Established in 1973, "Friend of China Travel" began serving the
Southern California market focusing on Asia with a special emphasis
on China. With resourceful marketing by Theresa Cheng, founder and
CEO of the company, the business quickly showed enormous growth,
well beyond industry standards for any Los Angeles-based agency.
During its first decade, Friend of China expanded its geographical
focus, offering a full range of travel services for the global market.
Its client base continued to broaden, shifting increasingly towards
larger corporate accounts. The company merged with two other travel
agencies in 1983 and renamed itself "APF Travel, Inc." Business
consistently flourished for the company. In 1994, APF Travel moved
its headquarters to a newly purchased 10,000 sq. ft. building located
in Alhambra, California.
Today, APF Travel remains a market leader in the travel industry.
As a member of both the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and
the International Association of Travel Agents Network (IATAN),
the company can issue tickets worldwide on any major carrier, and
through special consolidator relationships with over 25 airlines,
provide absolutely the lowest fares available, particularly to Asian
and Latin American destinations. Coupled with 30 years of high-quality
corporate client experience, APF Travel is the ideal travel partner
for any business, government entity, or sub-agent. |
