Day 1: Los Angeles, CA - Manaus, Brazil
Depart from Los Angeles to Manaus via Mexico City.
Day 2: Manaus - Amazon River (B/L/D)
Arrive early morning in Manaus. Warm welcome and greetings from your tour guide and you will be transferred to the hotel for rest. Leaves the Tropical Hotel landing-stage at 14:30h. Presentation on board of the staff, route and sunset, returning after dark, with the possibility of observing nocturnal animals and perceiving the change in the forest as night falls.
Day 3: Amazon River (B/L/D)
Walk in the forest with commentaries by the specialist. Observation of the flora. Visit to a "Caboclo" family. Chance to see the local way of life. Lunch. Navigation through the Anavilhanas, the world's largest fresh water archipelago, more than 1,000 miles from the ocean. Dinner. Night trip to see Caimans and possibility frogs, sloths, snakes, and other species, depending on the season.
Day 4: Amazon River (B/L/D)
Visit to the village of Novo Airao, with its handcraft boat yards, sawmills, market and other activities. Lunch. Navigation to Praia Grande or other white sand beach. Swimming if conditions permit, and observation of the vegetation of sandy areas. Canoe trip in lake Acajituba or adjacent lake domains to see typical flora (rubber trees, Brazil nuts, useful palm trees of various types). Fishing for piranhas. Dinner. Night trip to observe caimans. Navigation.
Day 5: Amazon River - Manaus - Brasilia (B/L/D)
Lake Janauary and Eco-reserve, Canoe trip at sunrise for bird watching, discovering the flood plain forest and lakes with giant water lilies (in season). Breakfast. Navigation to the "Meeting of the Waters". Return to the Tropical Hotel landing-stage, with fine views of Manaus' waterfront. Arrivals at 11:30h. End of the services. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to airport for your flight to Brasilia.
Day 6: Brasilia (B/L/D)
Today, touring through the nation's capital, enjoy city unique and modernistic architecture that designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer--- Square of Three Powers (The Congress, President's Palace, and the Supreme Court), National Congress, the military sector with army's headquarters, JK Memorial, Itamarati Palace and the Palace of the Dawn (President's official residence).
Day 7: Brasilia / Rio de Janeiro (B/L/D)
In the morning you will take a flight to Rio de Janeiro. After arrival, you will be transferred to the edge of Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, which meets the Copacabana Beach.
Day 8: Rio de Janeiro (B/L/D)
Today, you make your way through the cobblestone streets of Paineiras to the city of Corcovado and the statue of Christ the Redeemer. In the afternoon, you will visit H. Stern, the second largest jewelry center in the world; and the Maracana Soccer Stadium, the largest soccer stadium in the world.
Day 9: Rio de Janeiro - Iguassu Falls (B/L/D)
In the morning, a two-stage cable car will take you to the summit of Sugarloaf to have a better view of the Municipal Theatre, the Candelaria Church and Sao Benito Monastery. Depart in the afternoon for your flight to Iguassu. In the evening you will be amazed by the color and rhythm of Brazil at a lively Samba show.
Day 10: Iguassu Falls (B/L/D)
Today, a whole day escorted walking tour to the Brazilian side of the falls through path footbridges and velvederes. 275 cascades from a mile and a half long crescent where torrents of water plunge down to the basin in cataract 230 feet high; all strategically placed to give the tourist the best view allowing you to see each and every fall. A panoramic elevator can reach the bottom of the falls.
Day 11: Iguassu Falls - Sao Paulo (B/L/D)
This morning's excursion will be made to the Itaipu Dam, a joint project between Brazil and Paraguay. In the afternoon, you will be transferred for your flight to Sao Paulo. You will visit to the Government Palace, Ipiranga Palace, Statue of the Bandeirantes, the royal garden of European style, the Ibirapuera Monument and Parks. In the later evening, you will be transferred for your flight to Los Angeles.
Day 12: Los Angeles
Today your homebound flight will bring you back to Los Angeles in the morning to complete this pleasant trip!
