| Day 1: Los Angels - Antigua City (Guatemala) (L, D) | ||||||
| The flight takes off at midnight for
flying 4 hours and 45 minutes, arrives in early morning. Upon arrival to
Guatemala City you will be met by STP GUATEMALA staff for the transfer to
Antigua Guatemala. Exploring Antigua Guatemala is like stepping back in time … cobbled stone streets, sprays of bougainvillea bursting from crumbling ruins, pastel façades under terracotta roofs, parks with fountains … amidst a dramatic setting surrounded by three volcanoes, Agua, Fuego and Acatenango.” These are some of the reasons why Antigua was declared by UNESCO “Cultural Heritage of Humankind”. Present-day Antigua´s focal point is the lovely Parque Central, surrounded by the Cathedral, the Captain-Generals Palace, the City Hall and the Portal de las Panaderas. You will also visit La Merced Church, Capuchinas Convent and Casa Santo Domingo Museum. |

| Day 2: Chichicastenango Indigenous Market (B, L, D) | ||||||
| Departure to Chichicastenango, where
you will see the most colorful and picturesque outdoor market in Guatemala.
Every Thursday and Sunday locals from the region, gather to buy and sell
fruits, vegetables, flowers, grains, animals, textiles and handicrafts.
Relevant is the visit to the Santo Tomás Church, where the Maya-Quiché
pray to their gods according to the old Maya traditions. After the visit, continue to Lake Atitlán. Arrival to the town of Santa Catarina Palopó. |

| Day 3: Lake Atitlan - Flores (B, L, D) | ||||||
| Lake Atitlán was formed by a caldera (collapsed volcanic cone) and is surrounded by three impressive volcanoes (San Pedro, Atitlán and Tolimán) and 12 picturesque Maya-Cakchiquel and Maya-Tzutuhil villages. Today we will visit one of these villages. We take a boat ride to Santiago Atitlán, famous for Maximón, a character that is widely worshiped by the inhabitants of Santiago. Santiago also offers a variety of handicrafts, colorful textiles, woodcarvings and naïf paintings. Return to Panajachel and afterwards to Guatemala City airport to board the flight to Flores. | ||||||
| Day 4: Tikal National Park - Guatemala City. (B, L, D) | ||||||
| Transfer to Tikal National Park. Declared “Cultural Heritage of Humankind” by UNESCO, this majestic Mayan city is considered the largest and most monumental of all of the sites discovered in the Mayan World. Guided walking visit to the most important plazas, complexes and temples, enjoying as well the tropical forest, nesting place of hundreds of exotic birds and the habitat of a wide variety of wildlife. In the afternoon, transfer to Flores to board the flight to Guatemala City. Transfer to the hotel. | ||||||
| Day 5: Pacaya Volcano (B, Box Lunch, D) | ||||||
| In the morning we head towards
the pacific coast to climb the Pacaya Volcano. The Pacaya Volcano (2,500masl)
is an impressive active volcano, Strombolian type. We start climbing from
the San Vicente de Pacaya village, and can be ascended in approximately
1 hour 30min. If necessary, horses are available for rent on site. After walking around the lava invaded skirts of the volcano, we descend and return to Guatemala City. |

| Day 6: Guatemala City Tour - Los Angeles (B, L) | ||||||
| Guatemala City is a charming city both in the modern part as well as in the historical downtown. The tour begins with a visit to the National Museum of Archaeology, where you will admire one of the most important collections of pre-Hispanic ceramics, stone carved monuments, and the jade hall. We will continue to the historical downtown to visit the National Palace of Culture and the Metropolitan Cathedral, both located at the Constitution Square. In the afternoon, transfer to the Airport for the flight back home. Arrival in Los Angeles, complete this pleasant trip! | ||||||
